# Improve your Internet connection

Go to[ https://fast.com/](https://fast.com/) and test your internet connection, if you get less than **1.5Mbps** you will need to find a better way to connect. More than 10Mbps will ensure a good experience

Try to get closer to your internet router, ant test again. If the connection does not get better. Connect your computer to the router with an Ethernet cable.

If your home connection is not good enough you can try sharing the internet connection from your phone to your laptop, but be aware that it will consume a lot of data if you start a video sharing from your phone, and you may incur extra costs on your mobile internet plan.

If none of the above help improve your connection, try to get to a place with a better connection to join the meetings.

#### Connecting a computer with an Ethernet cable

1. Look for an Ethernet cable long enough to reach the router from your desk. <img src="/files/-M9mAZpMtl7m8AuSek-N" alt="" data-size="original">&#x20;
2. Connect one end of the cable to one of the ports on the Router (Labeled LAN or Ethernet):\

3. The other end of the cable should connect to your computer Ethernet port, if it does not have you will need to find an adapter.&#x20;

If none of the above solutions work to get you a better internet connection and you can go to a different place, try[ joining the meeting by phone](https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362663-Joining-a-meeting-by-phone). You will miss the video but will be able to hear and talk from there.
{% endhint %}
